LGI’s Early Childhood Education training is a series that empowers early learning professionals with valuable insights and healing-centered approaches. It is designed to inspire new ways of understanding and responding to children’s behavior and needs.

Level 1 Trauma-Awareness Certification Series

There are no prerequisite requirements to take this series.   Attendance at all three workshops and all three debrief sessions (6 total) and verification of a self-care plan are required for certification. Make-up session dates are included.

Early childhood professionals are provided with valuable insights and healing-centered approaches designed to inspire new ways of understanding and responding to children’s behaviors and needs.  Participants will gain foundational knowledge of trauma-informed care, key concepts and evidence-based practices. 

Included are practical strategies and skills to help children and adults effectively manage stress and build resilience.  Topics include Trauma-Informed ECE Basics, Trauma-Informed Child Development and Trauma-Informed Self-Care and Wellness.

This interactive series is delivered virtually and features a set of three 2-hour workshops followed by 1-hour debrief sessions for a total of 9 hours.

Level 2 Trauma-Responsive Certification Series

You must have completed Level 1 certification to be eligible to register for this series.  Attendance at all five workshops and all five debrief sessions (10 total) and completion of a case study are required for certification.  Make-up session dates are included.  

Expanding on Level 1 as a foundation, this training focuses on practical strategies and techniques to respond to the underlying needs contributing to challenging behaviors.  Engage in practical exercises and group discussions to solidify learning and tailor strategies to your specific role.  Strengthen your trauma-informed practice through case study analysis and the application of key concepts. 

Topics include Trauma-Informed Principles in ECE, The Science of Connection, Sensory-Informed Learning Environments, Constructive Discipline and the Teacher as a Playful Witness.

This interactive series is delivered virtually features a set of five 2-hour workshops followed by 1-hour debrief sessions for a total of 15 hours.
