Understanding Children’s Behavior

A Brain‑Based Parent Workshop Series

This free interactive workshop series helps parents understand children’s behavior through a brain‑based and trauma‑informed lens. Parents will learn how stress, regulation, and dysregulation affect a child’s emotions and actions, and how experiences such as trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can impact development.

These workshops explore tantrums and meltdowns, why they happen, and how to support children before, during, and after challenging moments. Parents will also learn how their own emotional state influences their child, practice co‑regulation strategies, and explore developmentally appropriate ways to use rewards, consequences, and alternative supports. Parents will leave with practical tools to support regulation, connection, and positive behavior at home.
